Secret Daughter

This documentary was very well made.  It had an honesty about it that made me feel comfortable while watching.  June is honest about her emotions and the difficulty she has searching for answers.  The Storches have a unique, loving family.  What I enjoyed most is the issues of race and identity that this film presents.

I agree. I like the way she makes the process of making the documentary so much a part of the actual piece. At first, I found it distracting, but then it really grew on me. I think it was very effective in making her ideas about identity come across for me. I could see her reactions to what people were saying, and also her thought process about how to tell her family's story.
